In order to support learners in Years 7-9 and to enhance our curriculum offer during the school day, we are introducing a new system for home learning at Denbigh High.
All learners in Years 7-9 will be set weekly extension and enrichment tasks for their core subjects of: Cymraeg, English, mathematics and science. These will be set via our home learning platform, Satchel:One. Learners who complete these tasks will be rewarded in our achievement assemblies at the end of each half term.
The home learning extension and revision tasks set via Satchel:One will direct learners to additional educational platforms, including Duolingo, MyMaths and Educake. All learners have been provided with information about how to log in to these platforms.
In addition to weekly tasks from the core subjects, learners also have ongoing project and vocabulary work from ICT and French each week.
The other subjects which make up the curriculum in Years 7-9 will issue their homeworks on a rotation. These may be longer projects or smaller, weekly, tasks across the half term. The timetable for this is below.

This will give the learners opportunities to engage in more creative activities, without being overwhelmed with the number of subjects’ worth of work they have to do. We believe that this staged approach will help learners to transition more smoothly from primary school, into secondary and then to Year 10 and 11.
School Library
The library will be open at lunch times and after school until 4:15pm for learners who may have difficulty accessing websites from home, or who would prefer to complete all their school work in school. This is a quiet learning environment with access to computers, books as well as members of school staff.
